Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is an undergraduate course whose curriculum includes the business study and the advanced learning related to the deep study of business management. BBA Course Details in IGNOU
The BBA programme offered by IGNOU allows the aspiring candidates to specialize in Retailing.
- Course duration – 3 years
- Course Fees – 27,000 for complete three years of BBA distance education from IGNOU.
The BBA course follows a modular method, where students will be awarded different certifications with the accomplishing of each stage of the course.
- On successful accomplishment of the first year of BBA course, the candidate will be awarded Diploma in Retailing certificate.
- On successful accomplishment of the second year of the course, the candidate will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Retailing certificate.
- And after the completion of a final year of the course, the candidate will be awarded the Bachelor of Business Administration certificate.
One of the greatest advantages of this concept of certification at every stage of accomplishment is that if ever a candidate is unable to continue with the course at any stage of the programme then the candidate has got the span of 8 years to complete the programme.
The candidates also have the option of pursuing MBA after their BBA from IGNOU.

IGNOU BBA Admission Process
The admissions into BBA distance education from IGNOU can be taken in any of either comfortable ways.
- Direct admission – Here the candidate has to undergo the personal interview, where they are assessed of their eligibility.
- Sponsored admissions – If the applicant is an employee then his/her employer can nominate them for the programme and sponsor the course fee.

- Click on the “Register yourself” button found in the applicant login area and fill the required details.
- The username you choose must carry 8 to 16 characters.
- The password you set must be alphanumeric and should be 8 to 16 characters long.
- Click on “Submit” button after you fill up the complete details.
- The username will be sent to you via SMS or e-mail.
- Remember the username and password for the further subsequent logins.
Now, you are done with the registration and can proceed to fill the application after logging in.

- Fill up the application form.
Requirements for the application form (All the scanned copies should not exceed the size of 100 KB).
- A scanned Photograph
- A scanned copy of Age Proof
- A scanned Signature
- A scanned copy of relevant and required Educational Qualification
- Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if the candidate belongs to SC/ST/OBC

- Payment through a Debit / Credit card – Select the Debit/Credit card option to pay the fee and follow the online instructions to make the payment. After the payment is made successful you can print/save the payment confirmation slip.
- Payment through Net banking – You also have a net banking option, which when selected will direct you to your bank website.
- Payment through ATM card (PNB)
After the complete process of uploading and making a payment click on “Next” to preview the application form that can be saved or printed for future reference.
Note: The application form is best viewed in Chrome or in the latest version of Firefox or at any browser with a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher, and will not be available in internet explorer version 11 and above.
Bear in mind, the furnishing of incorrect or false details would lead to the rejection of application as per IGNOU Rules.
IGNOU BBA Eligibility Criteria
The primary eligibility criterion is applicant must have a minimum age of 18 years and maximum can be 24 years.
Category A – Direct Admission
- 10+2/ or equivalent qualification based on the merit and physical fitness of the candidate.
- As per the Indian government rules, the University provides the reservation of seats to the candidates.
- A personal interview is conducted by the regional director with the concerned programme’s coordinator at the regional center prior to the selection of the candidates. The personal interview is a judging factor for the selection of the candidate, for which the candidate must satisfy the following aspects.
- Like Appearance, mental alertness, ability to communicate, attitude, general awareness. Each of these will carry 10 marks and the candidate are ought to score 25 marks to qualify out of 50 marks.
Category B – Sponsored Admission
The sponsor is allowed to nominate the employee with 10+2 or equivalent qualification. The sponsor then will submit a letter on the company’s letterhead which is issued by the competent authority with the candidate’s application form along with the programme’s fee which is payable only after selection through the Demand Draft drawn in the favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi.
