World's largest open university, Indra Gandhi National Open University aka IGNOU has launched its first online admission platform for students. Now anyone can apply for admission in IGNOU using his/her computer. This is a great relief for students, specially for working professionals, who don't have much time to visit regional centers for admission and wait for their turn in long queues. The Online Admission System (OAS) was launched on May 7 by in-charge Vice Chancellor of IGNOU Prof. Nageshwar Rao.
Using the online system students can submit their application form online and after successful submission they will receive a confirmation on their mobile through SMS and also on email.
This is indeed a great news for students who are looking for admission in July 2016 session as this facility will be available throughout current admission session. Students can apply for admission through this system for all 148 academics programmes. Students can visit IGNOU's official website i.e www.ignou.ac.in for online admission facility.
Apart from applying online for admissions, students now also can pay their fee online. A payment gateway has been integrated with IGNOU's official website and students can use the same to make payments for their programme fees.
We also would like to tell our readers that the last date for submitting the admission form for bachelor preparatory programme, certificate, advanced certificate and PG certificate programmes is June 16. Although students can submit the application forms with INR 300 late fee by June 30.
For Masters degree programmes, the last date to submit the application form is August 17 and with late fee it is August 31.
As the admissions has already gone online, don't wait untill the last date, You only need to visit IGNOU's official website or visit https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/ for more details.
You can also write to online_admission@ignou.ac.in Or can call at 011-29572964 (9:30 AM - 6:00 PM) (Monday to Friday) to know more about the online admission process.
For online admissions, IGNOU has launched a new website, where students can register themselves, read about the available courses in offer and can see the instructions for online application. IGNOU has made the whole process very easy with clear instructions about online application process. Although with users feedback the system will become more user friendly. We wish IGNOU best of luck with the new system.
