Students with disabilities, who wants to pursue a degree and post graduate level professional and technical course from IGNOU can apply for a scholarship of amount Rs.50,000/-per year & Rs.12000/- Per year under ‘Trust Fund’ & 'National Fund' scheme. The scholarships are given by National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC).
NHFDC was developed in 1997 by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. It offers scholarships & education loan facilities to students with disabilities. NHFDC functions as an Apex institution for channelizing the funds to students with disabilities through the State Channelizing Agencies nominated by the State Government.

Scholarship Scheme for Students With Disabilities Under ‘Trust Fund’
1000 scholarships are awarded of amount Rs.50,000/-per year under this scheme to eligible students with disabilities who wants to pursue degree and post graduate level technical and professional courses from any recognized university.
30% of these scholarships are reserved for Girls only. The scholarships are awarded to only those students, who's parents total income from all sources is lesser or equal to 3 lacs per annum.
If you want to apply for this scholarship, you can do it any time throughout the academic year. Students who applied in current quarter for the scholarship will get the scholarship in next quarter based on their selection for the scholarship.
Scholarship Scheme for Students With Disabilities Under ‘National Fund’
Under National Fund Scheme total 200 scholarships of amount 12000/- per year are awarded to students with disabilities, who wants to pursue higher education technical or professionals courses.
Total 50% of these scholarships are reserved for Girls students only. Students who's parents income is lesser or equal to 1.8 lacs per annum can apply for these scholarships.
How to Apply for these Scholarships
To apply for any of the scholarship mentioned above, students may visit NHFDC Website and can fill the application form online. All the necessary details are mentioned on the website. Students will be granted only one scholarship out of two mentioned above.
Students who wish to apply for the scholarship can look at the schedule online and submit the online application as per schedule. A printed copy of the application form along with the requisite documents duly countersigned and recommended by the Regional Director should be submitted to National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), Red Cross Bhavan, Sector 12, Faridabad 121007.
